The general rule of thumb is to always have one more litter box than you do cats.

This will help ensure that each kitty always has a clean and non-occupied box to use.

If you’re struggling with a cat peeing somewhere other than their litter box, another litter box may help solve your problem.

Do not place litter boxes side by side, right next to each other.

Many cats will spray their litter box to claim it as their own.  

Litter boxes define territory and should be placed purposefully throughout the house.

Litter boxes should be placed where they work best for your cat.

Be careful not to place litter boxes in areas that may startle your cat, such as next to the washing machine.

Make sure your litter box has multiple exists.

Cat’s don’t like to feel cornered and always need an escape route.

One bad litter box experience can cause your cat to abandon it.

Studies show, when given the choice, cats unquestionably prefer a clean box.

Litter boxes should be scooped everyday. Dirty boxes can cause your cat to pee outside of the box.
